(2ZZ engine) Super Charger for Celica GTS

Trial JP has put together a Super Charger Kit for the GTS Celica and
Trial USA has made it available to the US in three variations for you to choose from.
Slight differences in the US and Jspec cars make it necessary to modify the Jspec super charger. Those mods will be done at Trial in Japan before shipping. Important All kits are for off road use only and are not CARB legal.

The TRIAL Kit includes the compressor, inter cooler and all necessary piping and brackets for the installation. Previously the kit was offered whith a Trial Pre-Programmed Apex-i Power FC, Trial Titanium muffler and Trial exhaust manifoldclick to go to header page, but answer the requests of many customers, the super charger can now be purchased alone.

All kits should be installed by a professional tuning shop. Instructions in English are provided.

Super Charger vs Turbo

Power
Lately turbo kits for the 2zz engine have also come out. Turbo's will generally put out more power than a super charger, but the power comes out at higher rpm. The GTS already puts out good power at higher rpm and due to the weak valves, you don't want to play in the high rpm range anyway.
Drivability
Super Chargers have lower power but the power is there from start to finish. Super Chargers are usually better for daily driving rockets and in town driving.
Turbos get really hot and in the case of the Celica, the turbo is right by the firewall, near the cabin of your car! This can cause extreme heat to enter your cabin by your feet.
Reliability and Maintenance
Super Chargers are generally more reliable than turbo chargers. Turbo chargers get very hot and require you to idle your car awhile after use, to insure that the oil running through the turbo doesn't burn to the turbine and ruin it. A turbo timer will do this for you, but this is one worry you won't have at all with a Super Charger. Just turn off your car when you want.
Different Strokes...
If you are looking to be a high power drag winner, then a Turbo is where you want to be. If you just want to add some hp to your celica, increase performance throughout your power band, but keep reliability, a Super Charger might be what you are looking for. They sound really cool too!
